Age

How do I feel I can best explain the effect that years and years of accumulated memories have on your mind?

Perhaps this metaphor may help.

You have two playing cards, the 6 of Diamonds and the 2 of Spades.

You place them face down on a table.

Someone asks you to recall which card is the 2 of Spades.

Not very hard.

You add 5 blank cards to the mix. Now you have 7 cards. But which one is the 2 of Spades?

Not as easy is it?

Add 10 more blank cards. You only have 17 cards on the table, but which one is the 2 of Spades?

Now add 10 more.

...and another 10.

You only have 37 cards on the table. But which one is the 2 of Spades?

If each card represents 1 year of your life, then multiply those cards by 365.

You now have 13,505 cards on the table, each one representing an entire day of your life.

Now multiply that by 24 hours.

You now have 324,120 cards on the table, each one representing an entire hour of your life.

Now multiply that by 60 to represent each minute of your life.

You now have 19,447,200 cards on the table.

Again, I ask you which one is the 2 of Spades?

Feeling confused yet? Just think, you are still only 37 years old...and I haven't even broken this timeline down into seconds.
